  • SALARY:  From £49,354 pa dependent on experience

    LOCATION: Milton Keynes

    HYBRID WORKING: Our current hybrid working policy requires a minimum of 60% of working time to be based in the Milton Keynes office however flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the business and the role.

    We’re looking for an experienced Financial Crime Manager to prevent, detect, investigate and mitigate financial crime across our organisation, you'll be the single point of contact for any reported financial crime.

    This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in protecting our customers, business and brand. You'll lead a talented team, shape financial crime strategy, influence senior stakeholders and work at the forefront of fraud prevention and financial crime risk management.
     
    What you’ll be doing:
     
    • You'll lead, inspire and develop a high-performing Financial Crime team, fostering an inclusive culture where people can thrive and grow.
    • Provide second-line oversight of financial crime risk across VWFS and VW Bank, ensuring robust controls and regulatory compliance.
    •  Drive the use of advanced analytics and innovative solutions to strengthen fraud detection and prevent financial crime.
    • Influence business strategy by leading financial crime input into key projects, new products and business initiatives.
    • Continuously improve processes, systems and controls to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and compliance.
    • Represent VWFS at industry forums, bringing external insight and best practice into the organisation.Represent VWFS at industry forums, bringing external insight and best practice into the organisation.
    • Lead quality assurance programmes and ensure compliance with Hunter II and CIFAS membership.
    • Offer subject matter expertise on Know Your Customer (KYC) and UK Money Laundering Regulations, identifying compliance risks and opportunities for improvement while providing clear and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.
    • Analyse emerging financial crime trends, identifying risks and opportunities to strengthen controls and customer protection.
    • Lead and support complex financial crime investigations, draft and approve SAR/DAML submissions, ensuring robust risk assessment, accurate reporting, and compliance with UK anti-money laundering legislation, regulatory requirements, and National Crime Agency standards.
    • Lead complex internal and external financial crime investigations, working closely with law enforcement agencies and representing the business in Court where required.
    • Provide expert guidance and support to investigators, promoting best practice and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
    • Build financial crime capability across the business through training, mentoring and specialist advice.
    • Develop and maintain financial crime policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and European standards.

     Essential experience & skills

    • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the confidence to manage performance, support development and lead challenging conversations.
    • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, remaining adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity.
    • Experience operating at management level, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
    • A strong understanding of financial crime risks, investigations and relevant legislation, with the ability to apply your knowledge to real-world scenarios.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, using insight and data to identify trends, manage risk and drive improvements.
    • The confidence to make sound decisions, challenge constructively and think creatively when resolving complex issues.
    • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively at all levels, including senior leadership.
    • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance regulatory requirements with business objectives.
    • Excellent organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
    • A collaborative approach, working across teams and functions to achieve shared goals.
    • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and provide expert guidance to colleagues.
    • Experience leading financial crime investigations and managing financial crime risk.
    • Knowledge of financial crime prevention tools and controls.
    • Experience within automotive financial services or a regulated financial services environment.
