We’re looking for a Platform Owner - Cloud, to define, own and evolve our cloud platform, ensuring it delivers secure, scalable and reliable services that enable our engineering teams to build and operate solutions efficiently.
This high-impact role will be instrumental in delivering a robust, future-ready cloud platform that accelerates innovation, improves operational resilience and drives consistent best practice across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own and maintain the Cloud Platform backlog and roadmap to deliver the priorities for VWFS UK.
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Coach and mentor colleagues, effectively managing performance and providing constructive, motivational feedback.
- Act as a key bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicating complex concepts clearly and championing the value of technology.
- Implement a VWFS UK cloud strategy, including cloud platform adoption and migration roadmap working with Product Owners in the enterprise products teams to ensure the migration of productive revenue generating services to Cloud technology and overall value from cloud investments.
- Maintain cloud-readiness criteria that applications and solutions must comply with for being on-boarded (level of cloudification, support model, monitoring, error handling, documentation, licensing, fulfilling platform policies/code of conduct, security, CI/CD toolchain, etc.).
- Analyse models with Architecture to operate different workloads leveraging the most appropriate cloud model.
- Collaborate with architecture and development teams the requirements for connectivity and integration between cloud, on premise and 3rd party applications and services.
- Identify cloud skill gaps and develop a training plan to upskill existing resources across IT teams.

Essential experience & skills:

Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions at least using one of the following cloud technologies: AWS, MS Azure.
- Commercial IT experience with a strong understanding of programming concepts, ideally from a programming background on any coding language, preferably .Net.
- Experience in business analysis and realisation of benefits
- Experience of successfully leading a team (or large / multi-functional teams) and achieving results through people.
- Experience of driving performance through effective coaching and mentoring, developing talent and performance management.
- Deliver pragmatic business and operational design solutions that maximise benefits while achieving the desired business outcomes.
- Ability to resolve issues through strong problem solving skills: root cause analysis; engaging people from multiple business areas and IT teams where necessary.
