We’re looking for a Financial Accountant, in this role you will play a key role in supporting the financial control and regulatory framework of the organisation. You will be responsible for producing accurate and comprehensive supporting schedules for the monthly management accounts and regulatory submissions for Volkswagen Bank GmbH UK Branch.
What you’ll be doing:

Prepare monthly management accounts, disclosure information, and variance analysis for VW Bank UK Branch in accordance with IFRS and German GAAP, up to management review.
- Analyse, reconcile, and investigate balance sheet and P&L positions to ensure accuracy and completeness, proposing correcting entries where required.
- Produce regulatory reports for VW Bank UK Branch for submission to HQ, including liquidity, solvency and deposit guarantee reporting.
- Review and update all regulatory submissions to reflect changes required by the regulator, HQ, or the Bank team.
- Prepare regulatory and statutory submissions for VWFS UK Ltd. to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
- Ensure all intercompany balances are accurately accounted for, reconciled, and reported each month, including preparation of the monthly Intercompany Pack for management review.
- Complete VAT schedules accurately for review by the Tax Team, resolve queries collaboratively, implement VAT changes (including updates to the online tax tool), and support timely VAT return submissions.
Essential experience & skills

Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
- Experience preparing accounts under both IFRS and German GAAP.
- Strong ability to work with large and diverse data sets, consolidating information into accurate final submissions.
- Proven experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders across the business.
- Solid technical accounting knowledge, including exposure to regulatory reporting and taxation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP FI is preferred.
